NYC Cake Smash Photography Session

Noa’s cake smash took place in their apartment in Chelsea, NY. Noa was one of the prettiest babies I have ever photographed with the biggest brown eyes! She was definitely one of those wiggly one year olds who didn’t want to sit still…that was until we put the cake in front of her, and she went to town. Her little fur sibling was also interested in getting in on some of the cake smash action at the end.

Noa’s mom wanted to do something special for Noa since they weren’t going to have the first birthday party that they had planned for her due to the pandemic. She contacted me saying she wanted something clean, feminine, but also fun. I suggested a few cake designs from the list I sent her and she chose this pretty Japanese floral cake. The little ruffle outfit her mom chose from my selection was definitely feminine! I think everything came together perfectly to match what her mom was looking for. She was in love with all of the photos of Noa and even chose a bunch of extras from her little girl’s gallery.

Did you know that all of my cake smash sessions include the cake, outfit and decor? Parents choose from a wide array of cake designs that I have curated over the years, and I’ll coordinate it with an outfit and banner from my decor. I like to keep my sessions timeless and classic with minimal decor so the focus is on the baby. Themes can quickly become outdated, but a very minimalistic look is timeless!
