Best NYC In-home Cake Smash

Ahnestee’s mom’s favorite color is purple, so you can be sure she picked purple for the theme of her daughter’s cake smash session. I brought the light purple romper in the above photos for the pre-cake smash photos. The little bed with purple flower mattress made for the cutest portraits. For Ahnesetee’s newborn session, we also used a lot of purple. A lot of my cake smash sessions are light pink so it was fun to use a different color. Her one year portraits coordinated perfectly with her newborn session portraits!

I always start out my cake smash sessions with pre-cake smash portraits. This adds variety to the photo session, and it also allows the babies to get warmed up to being in front of the camera. Ahnestee posted so perfectly for her portraits using my little wooden bed and gold glitter ONE letters.

When it came to her cake, she loved picking off the little purple and blue flowers from the cake. She wasn’t too interested in eating the cake itself and so we had to use her favorite cheerio snacks. I always ask parents to have their child’s favorite snack handy, in case they aren’t a fan of the cake. The cheerios are small enough that it looks like they are actually eating the cake!
