Top Long Island Cake Smash Session

Michael was one of my newborn clients, and I also got to see his family during my Christmas holiday mini sessions. I love being able to catch up with families during their milestone shoots.

Michael’s signature style is a bow tie, so we had to incorporate it into his cake smash. He also wore a bow tie as part of his Christmas attire. For his newborn session we photographed him next to his grandfather’s bear (which had a bow tie on it too!) His mom joked that for a one-year old he had a very distinct style and I couldn’t agree more! I’m personally not a huge fan of the bloomer/bow tie/suspender sets, as I prefer a more clean, simple look. I loved how his blue bow tie paired perfectly with my denim Zara shorts, cake, and cake smash banner.

Even big sister Bowie got to participate in the cake smash after Michael was done with his cake!

I love the idea of pre-cake smash portraits. It gets the baby used to the camera, and also gives parents variety when it comes to their cake smash shoot, so it’s not just all about the cake. I provide all of the outfits for the pre-cake smash portraits, as well as the cake smash, to make it super easy for parents!
