Simple black & white cake smash session

Charlie’s mom emailed me with an idea to do a black & white cake smash, with a pop of color. She sent me photos her friend had gotten done in a different state and wanted to create something with the same aesthetic. Her friend’s photos also featured this yellow smiley cake. At first I was hesitant to be honest! I wasn’t sure if the idea fit in with my aesthetic, but after some thought and research trying to come up with an idea keeping within my aesthetic I happily said yes! I found this great black and white banner to use from amazon that photographed super well. This cake smash turned out to be one of my new favorite set-ups. And I mean, cmon, how cute is a smiley face cake?!

Charlie went to town on his cake! There was no keeping this little guy from making a mess. His parents said he loves textures and sweets, so they weren’t surprised when he destroyed it. Charlie gave us the cutest smiles, and kept singing and wiggling to the music we put on. I can’t wait until I can do this set up again.
