Best NJ Cake Smash Session

It took little Zev a bit to get used to his cake smash session. In my FAQ I let parents know that the session is made to capture the baby however they are on the day of the shoot. Babies have many moods on the day of and are unpredictable. Sometimes they are happy, tired, cranky, serious, and smiley. No matter what mood they’re in, the shoot makes for a fun memory.

Zev didn’t care for his cake too much but he loved using my spoon to bang on the cake plate. He also loved his toys. Parents often ask me what I do if the baby doesn’t love the cake, and its not a problem at all. I always go with the flow of the baby during the session. Often we’ll put their favorite food on top for them to pick off of the cake. If that doesn’t work I’ll bring in their favorite toys, or even remove the cake altogether. Even photos of them with their cake smash banner make for cute portraits. Zev loved his toys and was content without his cake, so we took full advantage. Love the little teethy smiles I got from him.
