Manhattan Baby Session

Baby Josephine’s family have been my clients for a long time. I photographed big sister Julianna for her newborn and sitter session, and have seen them for my holiday mini sessions. I love being able to watch families grow, and truly feel so honored when families have me come back to capture these memories for them.

Baby Josephine, nicknamed Joie (Joey) by her parents was such a doll during her photoshoot. She had amazing skin tones that made my job so easy in terms of editing and helping mom choose a color for her session. She slept so well and posed without a peep!

I did the same pose of Joie on the purple set up with the jeweled headband as I did for big sister Julianna. The crazy thing is that they look identical as newborns, and you can hardly tell them apart! I think genetics is so fascinating when it comes to siblings, sometimes they look so much alike, sometimes nothing alike.

We captured these sweet details using my macro lens (100mmL 2.8). Baby Joie had such long eyelashes. I love when parents choose these shots as they’re so unique to the newborn stage.

Big sis Jules was a PRO when it came to modeling as I also photographed her newborn and cake smash session. Typically it can be very tricky or difficult to get an older sibling under 3 to pose for sibling shots. Jules completely listened to my directions! She happily followed my commands to smile and give little sis Joie a big kiss. You can really tell she adores her sister already!
