In-home Englewood, NJ Newborn Session

Joli’s mom was so excited to find she was having a little GIRL. Her family have been great clients of mine. I met them when I photographed their older son John’s newborn photos, and have since documented more special milestones for them.

Joli’s mom picked out this pretty lavender purple for her session. She was such a sweet baby. She didn’t like being moved once she was posed, but went with the flow of the session!

I always like to incorporate a color into the shoot and a cream/neutral. The cream/neutral color backdrops are perfect for my wrapped circle poses (or so I call them!) and they are easy to transition to for macro shots. I will rarely use a colored fabric for macro shots as I think the light neutrals make the best backdrop for them.

Big brother John did amazing! He’s two, a tricky age for photos. John did great and smiled in almost every frame during the family photos.

I also love incorporating backlit photos in my sessions. These are a very different feel compared to the formal parent poses, and make for such beautiful, classic shots. I even provide a dress moms can wear for this pose, as you see in the image above.
