Those who have worked with me know how much I love simple, timeless photos. Luka’s cake smash was no exception! I had done Luka’s newborn session the prior year. His mom loves bears and even decorated his newborn nursery with a bear theme. We also incorporated bears in his newborn session! So when it came to planning his first birthday, you sure could have guessed it would include bears!

Luka’s mom appreciates my simple touch on themed sessions and picked out the banner, and outfit for a simple bear cake smash session. I recommended a plain naked cake to incorporate the neutral tones and keep the focus on the minimal decor. Look how bear-y cute this came out!
I love working with clients’ different ideas. I don’t love a whole elaborate theme, but love using small touches to make the sessions personalized. In the past I’ve done a golden “theme” for a golden 1’st birthday, and planning to do a simple gold cake smash to reflect mom and dad’s wedding cake!
