Best Manhattan Newborn Session

Ruby’s family has been coming to me for sessions since their eldest son, Freddy turned one and I did his cake smash. Since then I photographed their son Logan’s newborn and one-year session, and now baby sister Ruby’s newborn session. It was such a special session, as they welcomed their baby girl. I love going back to their home to see the photographs of their older two boys on display on their walls.

Ruby’s brothers were so proud of their role as big brothers to their little sister, and were so sweet and gentle around her. I even got 2 year old Logan to smile and hold his sister for a photo! This can be hit or miss at this age, so I never promise sibling photos when the oldest sibling is under 4 years old.

Ruby’s mom told me her name in advance, so of course I had to use my special Ruby gemstone headband and fabric backdrop. I actually used this same set up less than a year ago for another little girl named Ruby!

Ruby’s mom also wanted to incorporate my little props into her session. We used my white felt heart and little felted doll, to add a little variety to the set-ups that I do.
