NYC Twin Cake Smash Session

Twins are so much fun to photograph together, but also a little nerve racking! Each baby has their own unique personality and it’s always fun to see what they do with the cake. Some babies love their cake, some are very serious, and some want nothing to do with it. It’s interesting to see when you put two together whether they will both love or hate it, or one will love it and the other won’t care for it.

Harper and Sienna both did amazingly well for their session! They both loved their cake, and weren’t scared at all. I love when this happens because it enables me to get super cute photos of the two of them together. I also try to grab each of their attention to get individual photos. Prior to the cake, as I do with all of my cake smash sessions, I take separate portraits of each baby. For Harper and Sienna we did my white rustic set up, and we also did my glitter ONE letters. We did the ONE letters for each of them separately and together. The cutest picture was when Harper looked straight at the camera and you could see Sienna’s tongue sticking out as she licked the letter.

This twin cake smash was taken with my new Canon mirrorless R6. I absolutely LOVE this camera! The sharpness is incredible. A great feature, especially for a cake smash session is the auto eye detection which enables the camera to lock focus on the eye as the subject moves. It’s incredible how accurate it is!
