NYC Newborn Photography Session
Leyla’s mom was initially not sure if she was going to do a newborn session as she was pregnant with Leyla during the midst of the pandemic. Once little Leyla made her arrival, everything changed and her mom knew that she had to get photos of her sweet daughter. I don’t always have last minute availability as my schedule typically fills up 2-3 months in advance, but I happened to have one date open that would keep within the two week timeframe of Leyla’s birth. Her mom was so excited when I was able to fit her in for her newborn photo session.
Leyla’s mom sent me a bunch of images from my portfolio that she loved and wanted to try to capture of her daughter. It’s hard to guarantee any specific shot, as I always go with the flow of the baby and their comfort level, but Leyla did great posing and we got through many of mom’s requests! I even got big sister Rosie (ruff!) looking inquisitively at her sister wondering ‘who are you?!’ Leyla’s mom said that big sis Rosie was actually super protective of her new little sister and would go to her side whenever she cried or stirred. Luckily for me, Rosie allowed me to pose her little sister. I even captured some photos of Rosie looking towards the camera, but thought the one of her looking at Leyla was too cute not to post. Dogs can sometimes be difficult to capture during a newborn session, but Rosie was made for modeling!
