In-home Upper East Side 1st Birthday Cake Smash
Landyn was such a beautiful, photogenic baby with such bright hazel eyes. Her mom was a big fan of pink, and chose this ombre pink cake with my matching light pink happy birthday banner.
Landyn took a while to warm up to the camera. She was not a fan of my flash, whatsoever. Every time I lifted my camera, she cried even before the flash went off. It was actually pretty funny to watch. I would snap a photo of her happy, the flash would go off, and two seconds later (talk about a delayed reaction!) she would hysterically cry. It was so cute.
Eventually, Landyn gave up crying as I persisted (Landyn girl, did you think I’d give up?!) I’ve noticed when the kids aren’t a fan of the flash or cake, a little persistence, patience and allowing them to adjust to the new setting helps. I notice they will eventually warm up. I was then able to get a whole bunch of the cutest photos of her- smiles included!
There are perhaps my absolute favorites from Landyn’s session. I love the crying photos. I always think, what will they say when they see these photos when they’re older? Or even show them to their future husband? Ha!
