Affordable First Birthday NYC Cake Smash

Julian’s mom had contacted me about a cake smash session for his first birthday in early Spring. She knew exactly what she was looking for. She wanted his ice blue eyes to stand out in photos. Julian’s mom also wanted a light blue outfit to match. She had ordered one online which unfortunately didn’t arrive on time. As a back up she showed me these seersucker pattern shorts he had in his closet which matched perfectly! Everything came together so nicely.

Julian was on the move during his session! Once we placed the cake in front of him, he went to town. I normally supply the cake for these first birthday sessions, however Julian had an egg allergy. Mom picked up a cake from Erin McKenna’s bakery. I always recommend Erin’s bakery for children who have food allergies. I send parents a list of cake designs I use that coordinate with my decor and they let me know which cake they will be getting. This way I can bring my decor to match the set up. Erin did a great job in creating this ombre blue cake for Julian’s session.
